After Care Information

Your curtains are supplied ready to hang. To preserve the life of your curtains we recommend that they are lined to protect from sunlight. We also recommend that curtains and curtain accessories are lightly vacuumed on a regular basis to remove dust.

Colour matching

All pattern repeats vary. They can be mirrored image , side matched or half dropped across the width of the fabric.  Please be aware at the time of selection the type of pattern repeat within the design you have selected.  Pattern repeats have a tolerance of +/- 5%

Yarns/Fibres

Our fabrics are constructed with various natural yarns and synthetic fibres.  Often there are slubs and natural weave irregularities which enhance the final appearance of the fabric. It should be noted that this is not a defect and is an inherent characteristic of the cloth.  Please note that an inherent characteristic of the Suede Collection is the 'bruised' appearance which may appear as slight creasing.

Silk

Silk does not have a high colour fastest and therefore must be protected from the sunlight.  We recommend interling and the added protection of blinds.  Also the slubs , knots and irregular horizontal banding which  occur are all natural characteristics of the silk yarn.

Shrinkage

Please be aware that up to 5% shrinkage may occur due to variations in atmospheric conditions whilst in situ at the window, or during the first wash or dry clean.  There is sufficient fabric available within the hems to enable any necessary adjustment in length.

Dry Cleaning/Washing

Follow instructions on the care label inserted within the heading tape

Creasing

Our curtains are carefully packed and despatched.  However any folding of material will cause certain creases; in the case of velvet and man-made fibre material, these will drop out after hanging.  Cotton prints may need a cool iron.

Ironing

Should you feel it necessary to iron your curtains, do not allow the heat on the material to build up as this can distort the cloth.  Our curtains are manufactured with traditional rolled side seams to enhance the material - do not try to flatten these.

Sun

Extreme sunlight will damage the fabric and we recommend you line or interline your curtains.  Glass magnifies the destructive elements of the sunrays and it should be noted that the winter sun is as harmful as summer sun. However blinds are a useful barrier against sunlight. Failure to protect the fabric may result in claims for fading being rejected.
